Fourteen years of pastoral ministry celebrating Pastor Kimble Windham and First Lady Minister Lisa Windham will be held at Hills Chapel M.B. Church, 1860 SCR 105, Louin. Pre-anniversary will be held Friday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Minister Shirron Wash, member of Jackson Revival Center, Jackson, under the leadership of Pastor Jennifer Beird. All choirs, groups, soloists, dance ministries are invited to attend; upon arrival register in the foyer to appear on the night of celebrating program.
A gospel sing will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Sanford Community Center, 663 Old Highway 49, Sanford, featuring The Pilgrim Family, Gospel Grass Revival and Faithway Singers. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received. For more information call 601-765-6485.

The annual Mardi Gras Pancake Supper will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church on Tuesday, Feb.13, from 5-7 p.m. in the church hall located at 1201 South 4th Street, Collins. The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women will host their annual “Chili” lunch sale on Wednesday, February 14, at the E911 Building in Mendenhall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lunch is $5.
The Braxton Planners will sponsor a Neighborhood Watch Meeting on February 15 at Braxton Community Center at 6 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and visit with your neighbors as Chris Busby explains and demonstrates the new CPR procedures. The Mendenhall Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for the next Mendenhall Miss Hospitality. The goal of the state and local Miss Hospitality is to promote tourism and economic development at the local and state level. The Board of Supervisors and Simpson County Solid Waste Offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 19 in Observance of President’s Day. Trash pickup will run as follows: Regular garbage pickup Monday, Feb. 19, will be picked up on Tuesday, Feb. 20, and will run through Thursday afternoon. Please have trash in bags and out by 6 a.m.

Mendenhall’s Friday Nights on Main Kick-Off Party will be held on March 2 on Main Street beginning at 6 p.m. There will be antique cars and trucks, hot rods, race vehicles, motorcycles and plenty of food, drinks and entertainment for the whole family. Vendors are welcome. 55 South will be jamming on the Main Stage or enjoy some karaoke music by Party Tyme DJ Services on the south stage. Sponsored by Cooksey Builders Inc. Friday Nights on Main will be held the first Friday of every month.

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch is open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul.
