 March 14-16

Revival service will be held at Rose Hill, 1232 Hwy 43 South, Pinola, March 14-16. The speaker for this event will be Elder Richard Drummonds, pastor of Rock Hill Church of Christ Holiness USA, Mt. Olive. Wednesday will be dedicated to the youth, Thursday will be Women’s Night and Friday Men’s Night. Services will begin nightly at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.


March 16, 17

A rummage sale will be held on March 16 and 17 from 7:30 a.m. until at Gum Springs Baptist Church. All proceeds go to missions. Items include clothes, baby clothes, furniture, jewlery and household items. The church is located on Gum Springs Road between D’Lo and Braxton off Hwy 149.


Kennedy Springs Baptist Church "Mission Center"---*Free Clothes... Also enter to win groceries, ham and cash for Easter -   March 16 and 17 (8 a.m.-noon) . Most  clothes are *Free  including  blue jeans, sweats, coats, jackets and sweaters. However, some of the new and name brand clothing will not be free. Plenty of scrubs are only  *$1. They receive new clothing donations from Cato and Dollar General often! Hundreds of books are available for 10¢.  It is open to the public the first and third weekend each month selling  toys, dishes, linens, knick knacks and much more at unbelievable prices! They offer free Bibles, Sunday School Books and daily prayer devotional books. March 17

A musical, hosted by Magee First Baptist musicians, will be held on Saturday, March 17, at 6 p.m. Bro. Elton Showers of the Showers Family gospel singers will be the MC for this event. All groups, soloists, praise dancers are invited to attend. For more information call 601-382-6148.

Annual Usher Day Program will be held at Taylor Hill M.B. Friends and Family Day will be held at Shiloh M.B. Church on March 18 at 1:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Willie Hobbs of Nazareth M.B. Church, Mendenhall.

Adult Book Club Meeting will be held at Mendenhall Public Library on March 19 at 2 p.m. Join the meeting and discuss John Grisham’s The Rooster Bar. 


March 19-21

Spring revival will be held at James Chapel M.B. Church 2036 Shivers Road, Pinola, on March 19, 20, and 21. Service will begin each night at 7:15. Guest speakers are Monday night, Rev. Tommy Fairley, pastor of Metropolitan Church Collins; Tuesday night, Rev. Ronnie Newsome, pastor of G-Grove M.B. Church of Mendenhall; Wednesday night., Rev. Glen Smith, pastor of Fair Hill M.B. Church in Sontag.

Kindergarten through sixth grade students are invited to play Bingo at Mendenhall Public Library on March 20 at 4 p.m. Winners will get to pick a prize from the prize table. Bring a friend. 


March 22

Kindergarten through sixth grade children are invited to Magee Public Library on March 22 at 4 p.m. to watch the 2011 Warner Bros. movie, Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown. It is rated G with a running time of 60 minutes. After the movie and popcorn, make Snoopy masks.


March 24

An Easter party will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, March 24, from 2-4 p.m. There will be activites, relay games and an Easter Egg Hunt. Please bring Easter baskets. No food, it is an an outside event. Everyone is invited to attend.


A church-wide garage and bake sale will be held at Galilee Baptist Church on March 24 beginning at 7 a.m. across from Dollar General in Puckett. BBQ sandwiches and hot dogs will be sold. All proceeds will go towards the church building fund.


 March 25

The 15th Annual Pop Robinson Celebration celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. L.V. (Pop) Robinson and Mrs. Rosetta (Sue) Robinson will be hed Sunday, March 25, at 3:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Pinola. All groups, soloists and choirs are invited. Theme: Psalms: 150:1-5.


March 28

Creative Coloring: Coffee, Cookies and Coloring at Mendenhall Public Lirbary on March 28 from 1-2 p.m. Experiment with watercolors and ink. Coffee and cookies will be served.


March 30

Seven Sayings on the Cross will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m. Food will be served immediately following the services. Everyone is invited to attend.


 March 31

The Magee First Baptist Church Pastor Aide Ministry will hold their Second Annual Pastor Aide Gala on Saturday, March 31, at 6 p.m. at the Magee Civic Center. The doors will open at 5 p.m. Minister Herbert Anderson and his wife Sister Deborah Anderson will be the speakers of the evening. This event is formal and a buffet dinner will be served. June 1-2

Magee High School Class of 1988 will celebrate their 30 year reunion on Friday, June 1, with a Meet and Greet at Magee High School from 6-7 p.m. and tour the old stomping ground and reminisce. A block party will be held at The Vault in Downtown Magee from 7-10 p.m. On Saturday, June 2, the 30 year class celebration will be held at Pretty Unique event venue, Hwy 18 W, Jackson, from 7 p.m. to midnight. The cost for the 2 day event is $150 per classmate and allows one guest. A deposit of $75 is due by March 12 and the final payment of $75 is due by April 2. A Bible study on the book of Revelations is being offered every Sunday night at 6 p.m. led by Pastor Bro. Donald Green at Fellowship Baptist Church, Hwy. 13 South, Mendenhall.


Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch is open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.


The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome.
