13 join first Color Run

Mendenhall High School recently hosted their first annual MHS CTE Color Run.

 Suzan Bourn and Sandra Jager organized the event to benefit several of the student body organizations. Proceeds from the color run were dispersed among Mendenhall High School’s FFA, FCCLA, and DECA.

Mayor foils theft of scrap metal

The mayor of Magee reported at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting that he pulled up at an intersection and found a fellow loading up scrap metals.  He inquired what the guy was doing and was told, “The mayor contacted me and asked me to pick this stuff up.” 

Berry asked, “Who is the mayor?”  The guy responded “John.” 

Let It Snow!

Simpson countians were in for a real shock when they awakened last Friday morning to find a fresh snow fall.  There were reports of up to 6 inches of snow which continued to fall during the morning.  This caused power outages around the county, but power was restored as quickly as possible according to power companies.  A lot of folks had lost
