Magee General Hospital announces new administrator

Magee General Hospital will have a new administrator when Sean Johnson replaces former administrator Amy Tolliver next week.  He is tying up loose ends in his current position as administrator for the hospitals in Yazoo City and Attala County.

He has 13 years of experience as a CEO in healthcare. The hospitals he currently serves are part of the Baptist Health Systems. Both are critical care access facilities with bed limits of 25 each.

He worked in Choctaw County as well as Aberdeen prior to going to work with Baptist.

Johnson grew up in the Jackson area.  He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi in Oxford and  his graduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi.

He has been active in Yazoo City, both with the Rotary Club and as a member of the board of directors of the Yazoo Chamber of Commerce.

During his tenure at Baptist, Johnson has led efforts to bring additional physicians to the Attala and Yazoo communities, expanded outpatient services, led expansion of physician clinics, enhanced Baptist’s swing bed program and earned rural health certification.

Johnson will reside in Magee.
