Cougars lose to Vancleave in New Orleans

Simpson’s boys basketball team traveled to New Orleans,LA this past Monday to play the Vancleave High School Bulldogs in the Smoothie King Center home of the NBA New Orleans Pelicans. The trip gave our boys an opportunity to play in a NBA arena and to watch a NBA game. The Cougars lost to the Bulldogs 58-50. The Cougars did get to see the Pelicans play the Oklahoma City Thunder, which featured several NBA All Stars. The trip was a great experience for our boys and fans.

Vancleave High School

Vancleave 58 Simpson 50 Scoring for Simpson were Thomas Pepper with 23 points, Kyle Russell 11, Bowen Kelly 7, Josh Flynt 5, Hunter Cline 3, and Hayden Cliburn 1. The loss dropped Simpson’s record to 2-2 on the season.

The Cougars will host Jackson Prep on Saturday, December 2nd, for four games, the junior high girls start at 2:00 p.m. followed by the junior high boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys.

On Monday, December 4th, the Cougars will host MRA with the 7th grade girls starting at 4:30 p.m. and the 7th and 8th grade boys to follow. The Cougars will travel to Central Hinds in Raymond on Tuesday, December 5th, with the 7th grade girls starting at 3:00 p.m. and the junior girls and boys and the varsity girls and boys to follow.

On Thursday, December 7th, Simpson will travel to Park Place Christian in Pearl with the junior high girls starting at 4:00 p.m. followed by the junior high boys, varsity girls  and boys. boys.
