Lady Cougars go undefeated in tourney

Simpson Academy’s basketball teams played games last week against Bogue Chitto, Collins, Jackson Victors, Magee, Puckett, and Stringer

Girls Games

Collins

Simpson 53 Collins 41-Scoring for Simpson were Morgan Griffith with 24 points, Alissa Brewer 17, TK Catchings 6, and Kristin Busby, Maura Pruitt, and Anna Claire Walker 2 each. The win improved Simpson’s record to 12-4 on the season.

Magee High School

Simpson 55 Magee 49-Scoring for Simpson were Morgan Griffith with 16, Bayleigh Prather 12, Alissa Brewer, TK Catchings and Anna Claire Walker 8 each, Maura Pruitt 2, and Kristin Busby 1. The win improved Simpson’s record to 13-4 on the season.

Puckett

Jackson Victors

Stringer

Simpson will host Columbia Academy on Thursday, January 4, with the 7th grade boys starting at 3 p.m. followed by the junior high girls and boys, and the varsity girls and boys.

Simpson will open district play on Saturday, January 6, traveling to East Rankin in Pelahatchie with the 7th grade girls starting at 11 a.m. followed by the 7th grade boys, the junior high girls and boys, and the varsity girls and boys. Simpson will host a district game on Tuesday, January 9, at home against Hartfield Academy with the junior high girls starting at 4 p.m. followed by the junior high boys, and the varsity girls and boys.
