Magee High School Lady Trojans, District 3, Region 8 Champions!

Trojans advance

The Magee Trojans cruised through the first round as they faced off against the Hazlehurst Indians. In a best 2 out of 3 series, the Trojans would win back-to-back games to advance in the playoffs. The first game was held at home. Timon Kennedy was the starting pitcher. It was evident from the first inning that Hazlehurst was overmatched.



Cougar baseball

The Simpson Cougars opened up District play recently with a three game series against East Rankin Academy. The Junior High Cougars played two games against Brookhaven Academy and Columbia Academy.

Trojan baseball

Magee played great competition this weekend. Even though they lost against Oak Grove 6-2 and Sumrall 7-6 Friday, Coach Allen Eubanks said the team played well. Eubanks said the Trojans had two costly errors in each game.




Simpson Baseball

The Simpson Cougars played three games last week in the Stringer Tournament against West Jones High School, Northeast Lauderdale High School, and Newton County High School.

The Magee Trojans are 6-5

The Magee Trojans are 6-5 through their first 11 baseball games, and are undefeated in district play with a 2-0 record. Both district wins came in dominant performances over Velma Jackson in which they won 16-0 and 25-0. The defense and pitching of the Trojans has been up and down so far this season.

SCA basketball ends season

The  Simpson County Academy Cougars boys basketball team played in the MAIS Overall State Basketball Tournament Tuesday, February 27, against Heritage Academy from Columbus. The Cougars were defeated 70-55, ending their season with a 20-13 record.
